“If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.” Psalm 139:9-10
Hello and thanks so much for spending a few moments of your day at Hurry Back Home. Whenever I go back stateside for a visit I hear the usual “so, when are you coming back home?”. I’m still working on answering that. =) I started traveling a few years ago, as soon as I got married and took off from the US, where I split time between family in good ole’ Texas and Florida. I’ve always wanted to travel when I was younger but somehow never got out of the US other than the occasional visit to Kerala, India to visit my grandparents and extended family. Somehow I got tangled up with marrying a guy who loves to live out of a suitcase and is always asking “where to next?” My husband and I have been blessed to live in some interesting parts of the world including New Zealand, Malaysia, and now Singapore. Without a doubt we love exploring food options from all over the world and in our travels we’ve realized that knowing where some of the best food joints are is so integral to understanding the way of life in that part of the world. I’m a people watcher, always have been and living in South East Asia only feeds that insatiable hunger to grab a cuppa and lounge just because. It’s amazing how food connects complete strangers! Along the way, you make friends that show you the “must try” local dishes and treats and then it’s your turn to surprise them with some discoveries of your own. I must admit I can’t hold back a smile when I hear friends say “I’ve lived here for so long and I never knew this great place existed!” So I press on to discover more and to share my foodie delights and life lessons learned along the way while hearing from others at the same time.
Blessings to you!
